SEWING WORKSHOPS
“I am embarrassed to admit this but it took me two years to pluck up the courage to sign up for the All You Need to Know to Sew workshop. I really wanted to learn but had been told by my well meaning mother “you will never be able to sew”. I would look at the different workshops you had to offer and sigh with resignation that I was never going to join the sewing elite. But then my daughter asked me about sewing and decided I had to at least try to learn. And now I am kicking myself as taking that workshop was one of the best things I have done. Not only can I sew confidently (and joyfully!) I have signed up and completed two other sewing workshops at the Studio. But if I am honest, the best feeling of all is showing my mother all the beautiful things I have SEWN!”

For the complete novice, the just-starting sewer, or you just want to refresh your skills, we have the highly recommended All You Need to Know to Sew workshop which is the best introduction you will get to the basics of sewing and sewing machines.
Once you have taken this course, you can then choose where you want your sewing adventure takes you – dressmaking, bag making, home soft furnishings or quilt making – the choice is yours. The best thing? All the workshops include a sewing machine if you don’t have one – or we can teach you on your own. And if you want to continue to sew at home and don’t have a machine – we have a lending service where you can borrow a machine, free of charge to keep you sewing. Or if you want to jump in with both feet, we can advise you on sewing machines and overlockers to purchase that are the best option for both your budget and your skill level.
