My first love is devoted to running my small creative business, which benefits from my experience as a professional marketer (in my previous career) as well as my own knowledge of the sewing and crafting industry. Using this acquired knowledge, I’m available to do the following kinds of work with you:

I can speak at your event or with your group about topics related to starting and managing a small creative business in an increasingly digital and fast-paced world. We look at how to break down marketing into bite size chunks for non-marketers and we can work with you to create a newsletter that will help your business stand out from the sea of similar businesses.

I can facilitate hands-on or discussion-based workshops and professional development sessions (either one-to-one or in dedicated groups), that focus on topics related to starting and running a small creative business. If you are thinking of starting your own business, we can look to put the bigger picture of what that business would actually be like or if you have an existing business and want to get a clearer picture of what is working and what needs tweaking, I can help.

I can write for your publication – both traditional print as well as digital-only publications.

If you would like to discuss where I might be able to help you, please fill in the form below and I will be in contact.

‘With a sudden influx of people offering business mentoring and learning opportunities, I believe the maker has to look to those with proven experience and knowledge to share if they really want to learn. Maeri gets the business of being a small business, and is one of those people I often have YES! conversations with. The craft industry could do with more Maeris’.

Lyndsey James, Founder of Photocraft

Recently Maeri wrote an article for our digital journal about the real costs involved in running an online business.

I was so impressed with the quality of Maeri’s writing. Her piece was easy to read, well-researched, and informative. We were really proud to publish it and it added definite value for our members. We’re excited to continue to work with Maeri in the future.
